My Tots Are Going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Here Are the Reasons Why Yours Should Too!
Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party is a special event held at Magic Kingdom each year on select nights in the fall leading up to Halloween. Let’s explore everything the event has to offer and why my toddler loves going!
Overview
The event takes place on select nights between August 9th and October 31st
Guests must purchase a separate ticket. This event is not included in regular day admission or with your annual pass.
Only a limited number of tickets are sold each night, which means smaller crowds and shorter wait times; two things that my toddler appreciates!
Prices vary depending on which day you plan to attend and increase the closer you get to Halloween. This year tickets range from $109 - $199.
Discounts are available for annual passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members. As annual passholders, we saved $10 per ticket.
Children under 3 years old do not need a ticket
The event begins at 7pm and ends at 12am. However, your event ticket allows entrance into the park as early as 4pm. This is great for families with little ones that will not be making it until 12am!
Guests can wear costumes so long as they abide by Disney’s dress code policy
Entertainment
Mickey’s Not so Scary offers a wide range of entertainment that is only available during this event.
Join the Sanderson Sisters in the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular stage show.
Jack Skeleton hosts Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks Show
See special and unique characters dressed in their Halloween Best during Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade
Character meet and greets with characters that can only be seen during the event
Attractions
Rides are open during this event and with fewer people in the park, that generally results in shorter wait times.
Several of the rides receive a Halloween overlay
Trick or Treat throughout Magic Kingdom filling your treat bags with all your favorite candies. Disney provides the bag for you and you can visit each of the Treat Trails as often as you would like throughout the event. Although the lines can look long, they are continuously moving. You shouldn’t wait more than a few minutes at the busiest spots!
Food, Drinks, and Merchandise
Every year, Disney releases Halloween themed food, sweet treats and drinks. Some are even exclusive to the event! When we go to Mickey’s not so Scary this year, we plan on trying as many as we can!
The merchandise never disappoints. You’ll find both event exclusive merch as well as just general Halloween themed clothes, home decor, toys, pins and so much more! One of our favorite things to do is make a stop at the Main Street Emporium before we leave the park and we each find a souvenir to take home.
Check back in after the event and we’ll do a special post on how my toddler and baby enjoyed the event, food and merchandise. This will be our first time going as a family of four and the themed family costume ideas have been in the works since well pretty much last Halloween.
Final Thoughts
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a great night for the entire family. My toddler loves it and I’m excited to see how the baby likes it too. Here’s one final #tot tip - Florida is extremely hot and humid, even during this time of year. Be sure to wear sunscreen, drink enough water and select a costume for yourself and your kids that won’t be too uncomfortable in the warm weather. By the end of the event, everyone will be much happier!
