Our Top Five Favorite Activities to Do With Our Tots in Disney Springs

Disney Springs is an expansive, outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment center located within Walt Disney World. With so many choices, there is something for everyone, including your little ones! My husband and I enjoy taking our two young kids (ages 4 and 1) to Disney Springs on the weekends. In this post, we’ll share our top five recommended activities to do with your tots.

Marketplace Carousel

Your little ones will love taking a spin on this classic carousel with a hint of Disney. There are no height restrictions, so any age may ride. Kids under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by an adult, but the adult is able to ride for free. One ride on the carousel costs $5, two rides costs $10, and 6 rides costs $20. The wait time is typically not too long, and with an average ride time of 2 minutes, it feels worth the cost. Your tots can choose from a classic horse, a carriage or a spinning teacup.

Marketplace Train

After riding the carousel, take the little ones on a tot-sized train ride that they’ll be sure to love. Pricing is the same as the carousel with one ride costing $5, two rides costing $10 and 6 rides costing $20. There is also no height restriction, so any age may ride but kids under 36 inches must be accompanied by an adult that is able to ride for free. It’s a simple ride, on a fairly small track, but that doesn’t mean it still isn’t a favorite. The train, along with the carousel, make for a couple of great introduction rides too if your tots haven’t been on any rides prior to visiting Disney.

Build-A-Dino

Build a Dino Experience located within the T-Rex Restaurant

Located within the T-Rex restaurant, Build-A-Dino (by Build-A-Bear Workshop) offers little ones a chance to create their very own dinosaur stuffed animal friend that they can bring home. From a Brontosaurus to a pterodactyl, your tots can choose from a variety of dino friends with outfits and accessories to match. One of my favorite aspects about this experience is that it allows for some creative freedom and independence in a really fun way.

Paleo Zone

Also located within T-rex is the Paleo Zone - a place for the youngest of dino enthusiasts to dig for fossils and other hidden treasures. As you enter the T-Rex store, head towards the checkout counter in order to find the entrance. The Paleo Zone is free to guests and you don’t need to have a restaurant reservation to enter either. It’s a shaded area, with places to sit and all the digging equipment a young paleontologist searching for fossils might need. It is definitely worth mentioning that it isn’t sand either; but rather like small pebbles almost that kids are digging in so it’s not as messy.

The Lego Store

My toddler absolutely loves to build things with blocks. Last year for his birthday, he was given a Lego Duplo set and he loved it and he’s been a huge fan of Lego ever since. One of our favorite things to do when we visit Disney Springs is to look at the larger than life Lego creations outside of the store on display. From Star Wars, to Maleficent to Sorcerer Mickey, there’s something for everyone. Depending on when you’re visiting the Lego store in Disney Springs, you may find that there is a wait to get in. The store is quite expansive, with so many different sets that even if you don’t end up buying anything, it can be fun just to walk around.
